What we collect

When you visit

Our server records your IP address, browser type and approximate location (country and city), looked up from your IP address through the ip-api.com service. We use this to understand where our visitors come from. We don’t use advertising or cross-site tracking tools.

When you contact us

The contact form sends us your name, email address, your message, and optionally your company and phone number. We use them only to reply and to provide the service you ask about.

When you click a recommended product

We count the click: which product, which page, the time, your browser type and country. For these clicks your IP address is stored only as a scrambled (hashed) value, not in readable form. The partner site you go to has its own privacy policy.

When you search for a domain

The name you type is sent to the official domain registries (or our domain supplier) to check availability. We don’t store your searches.

We keep contact messages as long as needed to handle your request and for our business records, and visitor and click data for up to 24 months.

Cookies

We set one technical session cookie, used only to stop the domain search from being misused. It isn’t used for tracking and is deleted when you close your browser. Partner websites you visit through our links may set their own cookies to record that you came from us.

Your rights

If you are in the European Union, the UK or a region with similar laws (such as California), you can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Email hello@dotprotocol.com and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Affiliate links

Some links on this site, including the “Visit” and “Try” buttons on our recommended tools, are affiliate links. If you sign up or buy through them, the company may pay us a commission. You pay the same price either way.

We only recommend services we would suggest to our own clients, and a commission never decides what we recommend or the order we list them in. Affiliate links open only when you click them, and are marked as sponsored for search engines.
